Healthy Eating Mind Diet

Most of us are trying to have a healthy balanced diet, full of nutrition and food which is good for our body and soul. I think everyone needs to find their own favourite. The one which does the most for them. Fortunately for all of us, there is not only one healthiest food, but many many more! Not only they taste great, but they do have plenty of benefits. Let’s have a look at 10 of them!

Quinoa

Even know Quinoa is a popular swap for rice, it offers more than traditional white grain. This plant-based protein is considered as one of the healthiest foods because it supplies all the essential amino acids. It is high in fibre, magnesium, B vitamins, calcium and many more. What I find great is, that it is super easy to incorporate into your diet.

Lentils

Lentils are mostly recognized in green, brown, yellow and red colour. They do compliment a big variety of dishes and taste great. Along with supplying fibre and protein, they are packed with micronutrients, including potassium, folate, iron, manganese and vitamin B6.

Walnuts (and the rest)

Walnuts from all the nuts contain the most omega-3 fatty acids. However Brazil nuts, almonds, pistachios and other nuts have plenty of benefits. (Have a read through our last post).

Lemons

Lemons are not just for lemonade. In fact, one lemon supplies more than 100% of the daily intake of vitamin C. Vitamin C has key roles in skin and heart health and iron absorption.

Dark chocolate

Great news for chocolate lovers! Cocoa powder is rich in flavonoids, antioxidants were shown to help with cholesterol levels. When choosing chocolate go for products with lower sugar content and darker in the colour.

Berries

Among the fruits, berries offer some of the most antioxidant content. Which are important for our body. Along with their antioxidants and fibre, berries can protect against heart disease, as well to help and fight cancer.

Avocado

Unlike most fruit, avocados are rich in fat but don’t worry. Avocados contain healthy fats. They are rich in fibre and folate. Nutrients have shown to reduce heart disease risk. They are full of vitamin K, B5, B6, E and potassium.

Mushrooms

Just one cup of brown mushrooms will give you almost 200 per cent of the daily needs of vitamin D! Which is great as vitamin D has shown to reduce depression risk, promote heart health, maintain weight and supporting bone health.

Green tea

Green tea, consumed and cultivated in India and China for centuries. Green tea has proven benefits to the body. Of all the teas, green tea contains the highest concentration of polyphenols. It may boost your energy, metabolism system, protect against cancer, lower the heart disease risk, facilitate weight loss and many many more.

Water

From everything, perhaps the most important. Water! Keeping hydrated is essential for supporting the metabolism system, enabling digestive processes, eliminating body waste, regulating the body fat, regulating the temperature. And well, make life possible. The body can only survive without water for 3 days as research shows!

You should definitely add all these in your regular diet as there is nothing else than benefits! So keep your body and soul healthy and happy!
